My quails have laid an egg and i dont know what to do any theories ?

my quials are around 7-12 months old im not too sure, i think they are possibly japanese quails and one is mail and the other one female as ive just checked out online to see how to tell the difference and one has a redder neck. ive gone into their avairy today to clean them out and started removing their old flooring when i noticed a ball like greyish thing rolling around before now they havent had a bedding or nesting area as i didnt think they needed one as they have a full room to them selves and me thinkking that my 5 year old nephew may have thrown a toy ball in there picked it up and removed it then took it downstairs to show my mum what i found making a joke of it then she pointed out the egg shape which then made me check their sexes as ive named them max and paddy thinking they were males :/. im not to sure on how to handle this situation ive now thrown alot of toilet paper in there and placed the egg back on top and theve managed to move it underneath the toilet paper and are now lying on it fingers crossed i havent disturbed it, i just need alittle bit of understanding of what i need to do to make sure they are fine and are and what they need to be fed exactly to make sure everythings alright and what i need to provide them ? thanks in advance :)
